A new opportunity has arisen for a Plant Operator to join our operations team supporting wastewater treatment sites across the Yorkshire region.
This role plays a key part in the safe and efficient handling, movement, and management of sludge and treated waste materials. You’ll be responsible for operating mobile plant, maintaining site standards, and ensuring all activities are carried out in line with company procedures and industry best practice.
Flexibility is essential, as you may be required to travel between sites and adapt to changing operational demands. Safe working techniques, strong awareness of site standards, and a proactive approach are critical to success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
· Operate Loadall telehandler to load lorries with treated waste
· Stock out waste into windrows and maintain windrows or barn storage
· Maintain high housekeeping standards across work areas and plant
· Carry out daily vehicle checks on mobile plant
· Wash down mobile plant and equipment
· Log product movements accurately
· Maintain stocking pads, ensuring drains and gulleys remain clear
· Undertake additional tasks within your training and competency
Skills, Experience & Attributes
· Strong understanding of site safety standards
· NPORS licence for Loadall telehandler (essential)
· Previous experience in a similar operational or plant-based role
· Good problem-solving ability
· High level of personal presentation and hygiene
· Flexible and adaptable approach to work
· Strong team player with the ability to work independently
· Reliable timekeeping and willingness to work overtime when required
· Confident communicator with colleagues, contractors, and clients
· Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
