Electrician – Solar PV

Unify is working on behalf of a long-standing client in the energy efficiency and renewables sector. Following sustained double-digit growth, they are expanding their Solar PV division and are now looking to appoint a qualified Electrician to support delivery across domestic and commercial projects.

This is a permanent role offering strong progression potential, technical development, and the opportunity to mentor an Electrical Apprentice. The business is known for its technical standards, customer service, and commitment to quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve electrical faults and safety issues
• Design and install indoor and outdoor wiring, lighting, and control systems
• Inspect and test systems including fuses, transformers, and circuit breakers
• Ensure compliance with national electrical safety standards and regulations
• Keep up to date with changes to building and safety regulations
• Support and train an Electrical Apprentice four days per week (if applicable)

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum five years’ industry experience
• Solar PV qualifications (essential)
• Strong organisational skills to liaise with subcontractors and manage site setup
• Clear and confident communicator, both written and verbal
• Collaborative and customer-focused approach
• Passion for renewable energy and technical delivery
• Confident and patient when mentoring apprentices (if assigned)

Essential Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence
• NVQ Level 3 technical qualification
• BPEC – Installation and Maintenance of Small-Scale Solar PV Systems
• City & Guilds 18th Edition (BS7671 Level 3)
• City & Guilds Level 2 – Inspection, Testing and Initial Verification
• Level 3 – Installing, Testing and Ensuring Compliance in Dwellings
• Level 3 – Building Regulations for Electrical Installations
• Level 3 – Initial and Periodic Inspection and Testing
• Recognised solar qualifications (e.g. Napit, MCS, BPEC Solar and BESS, Level 3 Solar and Battery)
