.A leading Building Management Systems specialist is looking to recruit a BMS Design Engineer to join its specialist aviation division, supporting the delivery of critical infrastructure projects at Heathrow Airport.
This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced BMS Design Engineer, or a technically strong BMS Commissioning Engineer, Service Engineer or Support Engineer looking to transition into a design-focused position.
Working on a diverse portfolio of airport infrastructure projects, you'll collaborate with experienced engineers, project managers and client stakeholders to deliver innovative, compliant and technically robust Building Management System designs within one of the UK's most secure and complex environments.
The Opportunity
As a BMS Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for producing high-quality BMS designs throughout the entire project lifecycle, from concept through to commissioning support.
Working as part of an experienced project team, you'll ensure all designs meet industry standards, client specifications and project requirements while contributing to the successful delivery of major infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce complete BMS design solutions from concept through to installation
- Interpret mechanical, electrical and HVAC drawings and specifications
- Develop points lists, equipment schedules, valve schedules and technical documentation
- Specify BMS controllers, software, panels and field devices
- Liaise with panel manufacturers and review control panel schematics
- Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) where required
- Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle
- Ensure all designs are delivered accurately, on time and in accordance with required standards
- Collaborate closely with project managers, commissioning engineers and client representatives
What We're Looking For
You'll have a solid background within the Building Management Systems industry and be looking to develop your career within a technically challenging project environment.
We're interested in candidates with:
- Experience within the Building Management Systems (BMS) industry
- Previous BMS Design experience, or strong technical experience within Service, Support or Commissioning looking to move into Design
- Good knowledge of Trend, Tridium/Niagara or similar BMS platforms
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems and building services
- AutoCAD experience
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and within multidisciplinary project teams
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Living within a reasonable commuting distance of Heathrow Airport
- Willingness to undergo enhanced security clearance and DBS checks
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience working within airports, data centres, pharmaceutical, healthcare or other highly regulated environments
- Familiarity with complex infrastructure projects
- Experience delivering large-scale BMS installations
- Knowledge of client-specific technical standards and approval processes
