Job Title: Business Development Manager
Location: Hybrid remote, based in Exeter, EX4 (with occasional nationwide travel)
Salary: £50,000–£60,000 per year + commission
Unify Renewables is thrilled to partner with a leading renewable energy provider in their search for a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a small, dedicated team where your expertise in the commercial solar and VO (Voltage Optimisation) market will help drive growth and sustainability.
As a Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in identifying and developing new business opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and driving sales of Olympus Power’s innovative renewable energy solutions. Operating from a hybrid model in Exeter with nationwide travel when required, you’ll be part of an organisation that values your ambition, resilience, and passion for renewable technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct market research to identify potential prospects within the commercial solar PV and VO sectors.
- Generate sales leads through networking, referrals, social media outreach (LinkedIn and Sales Navigator), and other outreach strategies.
- Arrange and conduct onsite or virtual meetings with potential clients to carry out comprehensive fact-find discovery sessions.
- Follow up with prospective clients, delivering engaging presentations and closing sales.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date activity logs in HubSpot CRM to ensure transparency and organisation.
- Stay informed on the latest developments and trends in the renewable energy sector, particularly within the solar and VO markets.
- Achieve and exceed agreed sales targets by maintaining strong conversion rates and appropriate activity levels.
- Attend weekly sales meetings, individual reviews with the Sales Manager, and industry events such as trade fairs, exhibitions, and seminars.
- Provide insights and feedback to Head Office for improving products, services, and processes.
- Build and nurture client relationships, ensuring excellent communication and handling objections to deliver successful outcomes.
- Collaborate with colleagues, contributing to a positive, energetic team culture that strives for continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
- Proven experience as a Business Development Manager within the commercial PV sector.
- Strong knowledge of Solar PV, VO, and Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).
- Results-oriented mindset with a proven track record of achieving sales targets.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a friendly, approachable nature.
Desirable:
- Proficiency with HubSpot CRM for managing sales activities.
- Resilience and enthusiasm to navigate the complexities of technical sales and respond positively to challenges.
